There is something so remarkable about the movie Mary Poppins, that I have reenacted a scene or two as a kid. There might have been a time where I jumped on couches and chairs like Bert on the roof with his chimney sweepers. Let’s go fly a kite was a favorite childhood song, and something I got to relive seven days ago.

It is freeing to walk on the beach with bare feet and fly a kite on a warm clear day. Today, the kite was like Linus’ blanket — where I went, the kite went. The kite was my vivid accessory. How the ribbons danced in the wind is exactly how I intend on living the rest of my life — as expressive as possible.
