“Life ain’t a nonprofit,” says a close friend. We were talking about our small businesses in discussion of some of the hard decisions we must make.

But, I have chosen to run my life as such. If I had all the money in the world plus what this world deems as success, I would be unhappy. The people I hold most close to my heart are more valuable than money can ever by. If I can’t raise their standard of living, then I can’t have a better life. The external benefits of this life I have chosen are far greater than the value of stuff I can accumulate. I’m okay with running my life like a nonprofit, where I must spend everything I take in.
